Software Quality Engineer II

Job Duties: Conduct quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards, end-user requirements and serviceability standards. Develop tests, methods, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement for software quality assurance and serviceability standards. Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action. Ensure successful system tests and document problem resolution. Debug software products through systematic tests. After testing provide feedback to developers on potential changes. Participate in the execution of procedures for ensuring the quality and serviceability of new features and releases of software. Implement and define testing methodology and standards to improve results. Select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures are in compliance with industry specific standards.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable) in Computer Science or a closely related field such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems plus 2 years of post-bachelor's degree experience in all of the following: designing and developing software from a coding perspective for building test automation using Perl and Java; designing, implementing, and maintaining a test framework environment in C, C++, Perl and Java, including necessary equipment, configuration and software; installing and controlling various test configurations and environments based on different operating systems; performing Perl or Shell scripting in open systems and JCL in mainframe environment; developing and improving inspection or test techniques to improve quality, reduce costs or satisfy emergent requirements; developing and executing load, stress, performance and web services testing; developing and executing test cases and testing methodology for manual and/or automated tests utilizing server side automation framework and GUI automation tools; defining functional and non-functional requirements, identifying gaps, assessing capability, and documenting risks; and, utilizing Agile Scrum and waterfall methodologies including Rally Scrum planning tool, Quality Center, and Remedy defect management tool for quality product development.
